United Way of Southwest Michigan along with First Congregational Church of St Joseph invites the public to attend their “Pop Up Giving” event on Thursday, May 9, from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Beer Garden at Silver Harbor Brewing Company in St. Joseph. This event gives the community the chance to decide where funds go.

Three United Way partners – Boys and Girls Club of Greater Southwest Michigan, Region IV Area Agency on Aging, and Meals on Wheels of Southwest Michigan - have three minutes to pitch a project that will impact the community. The audience then completes their ballots to determine the winner. Proceeds from ALL ticket sales are combined to create a “donation pot.” Second and third place finishers each receive consolation prizes of $300, while the project with the most votes WINS THE REST!

This event’s sponsor, First Congregational Church of St. Joseph, has already kicked in $1,500 to get the pot started!

Individual tickets are $20 and include one free drink and light appetizers provided by Silver Harbor Brewing Company. Doors open at 5 p.m. Presentations begin at 5:45 p.m.
