Not even cold weather can stop Southwest Michigan from bringing the fun! Check out the variety of events happening throughout the month of February.

 

FAMILY ACTIVITIES

Calling all builders! Silver Beach Carousel is hosting a Builders Bash. All creative minds 5-18 years of age are encouraged to showcase their unique LEGO creations. The Builders Bash will be showcased at the carousel from March 2 to April 7. But, submissions end on February 23.

Head to  Sarett Nature Center to enjoy Storybook Trail! Now through February 29, from 9:00a to dusk, walk along the Ridge Trail while reading a seasonal nature story. Visit sarett.org for more upcoming programs!

If you can handle the heat, get over to Water Street Glassworks. Throughout winter and spring, they are hosting various courses teaching you how to make glass masterpieces. Check out waterstreetglassworks.org for a complete schedule!

The St. Joseph/Maud Preston Palenske Memorial Library hosts Children’s Spring Storytime on Wednesdays from 10:30a-11:30a! Explore additional programs at youseemore.com/maudpreston.

 

EAT + DRINK

Relaxation is at the tip of your fingers thanks to the YMCA of Greater Michiana. Partnering with The Livery, stop by the YMCA on Sunday, February 18 from 12:30p-1:30p for Yoga On Tap. While doing the lotus pose, participants also get to sip on delightful brews—non-alcoholic options available!

Get your fill on delicious oysters at Silver Harbor Brewing. On Tuesday, February 20 at 4:30p, come on down for fresh oysters, specialty sauces, plus a few chef features! 

Enjoy cheesy goodness on the first and third Wednesday of the month (February-April) at the St. Joe Community Taproom when they partner with The Cheese Lady for an Artisan Grilled Cheese Pop-Up! For just $10 you get a delicious artisan grilled cheese (rotating flavors) with chips and a pickle. Pair it with a tasty craft beverage from the Taproom! 

Sister Lakes Brewing Company hosts a French Bistro Beer Pairing Dinner on Tuesday, February 27 at 5:30p. Attendees will enjoy a unique five-course meal paired with SLBC beer. Optional “cocktail” hour begins at 5:30p with dinner to follow. Seating is limited, so purchase tickets in advance on their website. Bon appetit! 

Find your new favorite wine at the St. Joe Wine Shoppe! Every Sunday, they open three new bottles of wine, all different styles, during Wine Sample Sundays from 1:00p-5:00p! 

Head to 221 Main every Thursday for Martini Nights from 5:00p-7:00p! Special drink features include $6 Martinis, Lemon Drops, Cosmos and more; also includes $6 Old-Fashions and Moscow Mules. 

Join Tabor Hill Winery every Friday for their Tabor for Two special! Diners will enjoy options from a preselected menu of 2 entrees + a choice of soup or house salad for only $50! To check out the menu, visit taborhill.com for more details. Reservations are not required, but strongly encouraged!

Check out Lemon Creek Winery on Fridays for an open house Game Night, featuring extended tasting room hours from 12:00p-8:00p. Attendees will enjoy happy hour specials and BYOG (Bring Your Own Game) or choose from their game selection. 

 

LIVE PERFORMANCES

Check out some of the live performances this February hosted at the Lake Michigan College Mendel Center! Wednesday, February 14: Valentine Dinner Cabaret with MOIPEI at 6:00p; Thursday, February 15: An Evening with MOIPEI at 7:00p; Friday, February 23: Simply Queen at 7:30p. Watermark Brewing presents Comedy Night at the Solarium on Friday, February 16! Doors open at 7:00p, show starts at 8:00p. This event features headliner Dwight Simmons! 

The Box Factory for the Arts hosts Out Of The Box: Open Mic Night weekly on Wednesdays from 7:00p-9:00p! All performers - including musicians, singers, poets, writers and storytellers - are welcome to participate. Performances must comply with the Box Factory’s commitment to family-friendly entertainment.

Join the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra for The Four Seasons on Saturday, February 24 at 7:30p! This event will be held at The Heritage Museum & Cultural Center and will feature classics reimagined for today’s modern ear. Visit smso.org for more information!

Fully Alive Chiropractic hosts Wellness Workshops weekly on Tuesdays from 6:00p-6:30p!
